Southgate is a suburban city in central Wayne County, Michigan. The population was 30,047 at the 2010 census. Southgate was established as a city in October 1958, which was one of the last remaining portions of the now-defunct Ecorse Township, Michigan. Woodhaven is a suburban city in southern Wayne County, Michigan. As of the 2010 census, the city population was 12,875. It is part of a collection of 18 suburban communities known as Downriver. Woodhaven remains well known as home to the Ford Stamping Plant.
